Cycle with your City Councillor: Shelby's Ride

Tuesday, August 9 6-8 pm. Join Shelby Ch'ng for an 11 km bike tour of cycling infrastructure in Northwood. This is an opportunity to talk with Councillor Ch'ng about Northwood's cycling highlights and give feedback into areas for growth. Chapples Park, Thornloe Park, and the Parkdale Trail will be featured. Dessert at Menchie's will follow--please bring money for food. Safe Cycling instructors will cover cycling safety basics. Click here for a tentative route map. A bike and helmet in good working order are required. Please also bring a water bottle and money for dessert. Blucher, Picton, Windsor Family Ride

A drop-in session to help kids and families ride safely to school. The group will ride from the neighbourhood to St. Pius X and Algonquin Avenue Schools. Helmets and a limited number of children's loaner bikes are available for participant use. Participants will learn to conduct safety checks on their equipment. Meet in the park behind Unit 16. Free.

Coffee Tour by Bike

Our popular tour of local coffee shops is returning in 2016! Saturday, August 27, 10 am-1 pm. Join CommuniTea and Coffee and Safe Cycling Thunder Bay for a tour of local coffee shops. Stops include Wolfhead Coffee, Renassance Cafe, CommuniTea and Coffee; 1 other shops to be determined. Register at EcoSuperior.Eventbrite.com or by calling 624-2141. Meet at École secondaire catholique de la Vérendrye - 175 High St N. A bike and helmet in good working order are required. Please also bring a water bottle and money for snacks. $8.
